Stress

Well I'm sure all of y'all are studying now for exams and it sucks. Alot of people at this time of the semester feel they need a little help studying and turn to drugs like adderall to help them out.

Well last night I had a pretty interesting experience. A good friend of mine from high school studied all weekend, but wanted to do more so she took an adderall. Nine hours of vomiting later she called me. In between the sobs she told me she felt like she was dying! I hurried up stairs and called my uncle who is a pharmacist. He recommended she head to the hospital ASAP. Well, my friend would have no part of that, she was afraid her mom would find out about an emergency room visit and be upset with her.

When she started to lose feeling in her arms, we decided to go check her blood pressure. I'm not sure those blood pressure machines in pharmacies are really qualified to test in these situations but that is what we used. After taking her blood pressure four times or so and it coming back normal every time, we were satisfied. She was still afraid to fall asleep so she ended up staying up all night.

Not exactly the best preparation for our exam this morning at 8 am. She took the pill because a friend gave it to her and it seems like so many people take it recreationally that it seemed safe to her, especially since she had a valid reason for taking it.

I think she and I both learned a valuable lesson last night, and things could have turned out alot worse. So think twice before taking medicine not prescribed to you!

I am so sorry that happened to your friend. I hope everything turned out ok for her. I think I am one of the few people who have never taken aderall and after reading this I do not plan to!
